Milan, September 26, 2024 — The 25th VITRUM International Glass Industry Exhibition is set to take place from September 16 to 19, 2025, at Fiera Milano (Rho) in Milan, Italy. VITRUM is an important international exhibition for the glass industry, promoted by GIMAV, an association affiliated with CONFINDUSTRIA, which brings together Italian suppliers of machinery, accessories, equipment, and special products for glass processing. The exhibition, with the slogan "At the Heart of Glass," positions itself as the core of the industry, offering a unique opportunity for companies and industry operators to gather in an environment rich in innovation, synergies, and growth opportunities. More than 50 companies are expected to participate, with an exhibition area exceeding 5,000 square meters. The Italian glass industry is a dynamic sector, ranking second in Europe with a turnover of €96 billion, to which an additional €3 billion from the machinery and technology industry for glass production is added. The industry employs 28,800 highly specialized workers, with an additional 9,000 in the technology segment, generating over €12.5 billion in revenue for the entire supply chain. The exhibition will highlight the latest developments in the fields of photovoltaic glass, specialty glass, and architectural glass manufacturing. With the growing global demand for sustainable construction and energy-efficient products, photovoltaic glass is gaining attention for its ability to generate electricity from solar power. Specialty glass, with its unique properties such as enhanced hardness, thermal resistance, and optical characteristics, is widely used across various industries. The architectural glass market is also expanding with technological advancements and the development of innovative materials. In 2023, the machinery and technology industry for glass production and processing consolidated its growth, with a turnover approaching €3 billion, confirming its role as a symbol of excellence in Made in Italy, demonstrated by its international market penetration, with exports accounting for two-thirds of the total turnover. VITRUM25 will strengthen existing synergies within the industry and create new ones, enhancing the role of glass in the global industry. The event is supported by key national associations such as Assovetro, GIMAV, and Glass Group, as well as international associations like Glass for Europe, Abravidro, and Glaas Inc. Additionally, VITRUM25 will collaborate with synergistic events like NetZero Milan to delve deeper into themes related to ecological transition and the crucial role of glass in sustainability. Coinciding with the exhibition is Glass Week 2025, a series of events involving the entire city, including the exhibition "Glass: An Endless History of Materials, People, and Products," organized in collaboration with the Italian committee of AIHV (International Association for the History of Glass), offering a fascinating retrospective on the history of glassmaking. VITRUM25 will pay special attention to participating companies: through a series of carefully designed facilities, businesses will be able to maximize and enhance their presence at the fair. About VITRUM: VITRUM is the flagship exhibition of the international glass industry, held every two years in Milan, Italy.
